Hello, I was wondering what position I should play in basketball. I am 5'9" no shoes and can shoot a decent midrange, I can rebound well, I have okay post moves, my passing is pretty good , my dribbles are okay and I have a 26 inch vertical leap plus my hands are pretty big. I am in grade 9 right now and there is about 5 weeks of school left. I am 14 and my birthday is in about 5 months.

@Steropes ,
Play them all until you've grown and had some coaching. Concentrate on your core skills.

sounds like you could be a small forward...

@McGentrix,
What position do you think I could start playing first, I really like pf but I'm allittle small for it and same with center. Most people at my school who play basketball are like
Pg: 5'3"-5'6"
Sg: 5'8"
Sf: 5'9"-5'10"
Pf: 5'11"-6'1"
C: 6'2

@Steropes ,
After reading your post and the different feedbacks and responses, it seems like you have the skills of a power forward or a center. After reading further, it appears that you have the height of a small forward. Just using process of elimination, you might want to choose from being either a small forward or a power forward. Also having very big hands can prove beneficial when pulling down rebounds, which is a plus for a Power Forward.

@Real Music,
Yeah I might try playin power forward next year but I probably will end up being a Charles Barkley :/ thx for the response, I might just work rly hard on my shot and be a Kobe kind of shooting guard with post work in high/ mid post.
