The plug(the silver thing) for my laptop adapter is extremely scratched up. I scraped off some rust that was on it and now it has scratches all over. Is it safe to plug into the socket at home ?

Adam do you mean the 115-v plug (usu 3 pins but sometimes 2 when no gnd reqd)
