Seniors, height, and kitchens

It is kind of funny how to place a refrigerator. I now mean smaller ones.
In Sweden I only seen them placed on the counter. In Germany on the floor.
I find it so impractical as it is one of the items you open most often during the day.

I have one of those refrigerators with a freezer below. There is a door and behind the door two drawers. I find it practical as I can from above see what is in the drawer. Better than if is were boards.

Hah. I told ya that my oven was too high for safe use. And that fridge underneath causes my back to protest when having to reach the bottom drawers, and certainly when I clean it.

Where I live is designated for Seniors, and as such grandchildren should not be taken into account. If unruly, tie 'm with a piece of rope to a stake in the garden. :-p

A big downside to my under the counter fridge, is that it is next to the stove, in fact the opening handle is on that side, so, I need to be careful removing or placing things from/in there when cooking to avoid a burn.

Do the people who planned this kitchen have no brain cells at all?! And the contractors - don't they ever *think* about what they're doing? Total eejits. Sturgis, if there IS a person who deals with Health 'n Safety at your address, make sure s/he knows about it and keep whinging until something is done. This is totally and utterly ridiculous.
