Organic results come from search, e. g. keyword research and placement, etc. Paid results are when Google or another search engine accepts your money to deliver your site as an ad to an audience (selected by you) of searchers.
If you run a pet store then your organic search results come from things like using "fish tanks" as a keyword phrase, and your paid results come from paying Bing to deliver your site as a paid result for people looking for "cat toys" and the audience would be something like people with pets or people in Utah with pets.
