all Earths energy comes from the sun (Nuclear Fusion) energy can not be created just changed from one state to another correct?
So If you take a bicycle dynamo for instance and the lamp has blow so no
light. When you replace the lamp and switch on you get light and heat energy
will the bicycle be tiny bit harder to pedal? Similarly with a large mains alternator turned by a steam turbine does the turbine work harder with the demand for more power and how would it know?
@graham2rob,

Unless o're convneionally egigious
@graham2rob,
When you peddle you are dissipating energy all over the place. Some of it can go to the light bulb depending on the equipment. The bumping on the road would be enough. Point is you wouldn't need a classical dynamo on the wheel making you push harder to get the bulb lighten up. Lamp off you dissipate more energy while peddling the same work/effort.
And no not all Earth's energy comes from the Sun. Try the Moon instead.
@graham2rob,
Right. It takes relatively little energy to get an automobile engine up to the rpm it would be using to get up to 80 mph. It takes a great deal more energy to get it going that fast.
