Hi, I'm working on a truss design for cyclone areas and need to know the breaking strain/tensile strength of grade 350 mild steel tubing... the tubing sizes are shs 50x50x4... 40x40x3... and 25x25x3.

Any help much appreciated Smile

@Buddingengineer,
Don't know too much about the subject, but I came up with a web search which led me to this page:
Page 1

One of the tabs led to a design pdf that seems to have that kind of information:
Design Tables and Info pdf

Sec 7-5 on Page 155 seems to have a chart with axial tension for those sizes. I have no idea if that is the spec you are looking for, but the pdf is chock full of information. It's an Australian company, but I wonder if the tubing specs are not international. I'm sure you can figure that out.

Good luck! Very Happy
