Which of these is correct?
The home side is playing a counter-attacking game.
OR
The home side are playing a counter-attacking game.
The home side is creating opportunities.
OR
The home side are creating opportunities.

All are correct, although using 'are' is controversial in US English. You have been told this in another thread.
