I know it's not going to happen but I would be so happy if somehow the New York Islanders made the playoffs ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Capitals won the Presidents Cup(most points).....again.
Makes me wonder if they'll fold in the play-offs....again.

@Sturgis,
Gonna be a good one though the Jackets have lost 7 of 8 and are in a deep slump.

The Easter Epic, 30 years ago, the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals went to 4 OVERTIMES, more than 2 full hockey games, before Pat LaFontaine of the Islanders scored to win Game 7. Cool

I hung a 1987 Canadiens Christmas ornament in my Easter tree. Maybe that's a good thing. Picked Set up a Leafs Nation tee. He may wear it. Or not. In either case, I was already entertained by his expression as he took it in. You got me what?

The more original six teams the better. I'm still holding a grudge against all the upstarts. Get offa my ice!

@ehBeth,
I'm wearing my Capitals t-shirt to offset Set's Leafs shirt. It paid off tonight. I get it. About the original six.
Sometimes I get to watch HN in Canada on the NHL channel. Coache's Corner:
Don Cherry-is a clever wack-job but his straight man Ron MacLean is friggin brilliant. And the experts round table sure beats Milbury and Jonesy.

@Region Philbis,
I said I would be happy just to have the Bruins make the playoffs.

I lied.

@panzade,
Don's brother was the principal of the school where Pat's sister was my teacher. Between playing gigs, Don was the school's phys ed substitute teacher. He was nice but not brilliant.

Ron MacLean - brilliant. I've written about him in my Canada Reads thread. He was an amazing debater and strategist. In my top 10 of debaters - alongside Alan Thicke.

I grew up in a seriously hockey heavy neighbourhood. Scott Arneil https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Arniel lived on our block - was one of the little kids when we played Red Rover. Kenny the Rat Linseman was a friend and classmate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Linseman Tony McKegney https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_McKegney joined us in high school. We thought he was gorgeous and he was really nice - we went to all the Kingston Canadians games to cheer him on. There were more NHLers on our street and in our subdivision. Hockey was IT when I was growing up - there might have been other sports but I couldn't see past hockey.

@George,
So many injured Bruins. One bright spot is little Charlie McAvoy who looks like a young Beaver. He's a rising star.

For the Capitals, Karl Alzner sat out his first game in 7 years on defense and it was telling. The Leafs scored 4 on Holtby and are looking like they're primed for a major upset.
