How big of a piece would 15g of sodium metal be? I recently bought some and it seems really small and I do not have a scale. All of your insight will be greatly appreciated
Thank you
@Jercal303,
Since sodium has almost the same specific gravity as water, it should have
about the same volume as a half ounce of water.
Approximately a one inch cube or 2.5 cm
2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 = 15. 625 cc
I wonder why anyone would have this dangerous metal and not also have basic lab equipment?
I seriously doubt if the person who started this thread has legally (or at all) bought sodium. Chemical suppliers won't ship to private individuals and importing it into most countries is illegal and it would get stopped by customs authorities.
Possibly a homework question.
