Where is the famous sequoia tree that has a tunnel that I can drive through?

@edgarblythe,
The answer of course is that it fell down.

Sadly, the sequoia tunnel tree in Calaveras State Park has also toppled over.

@Sturgis,
It was the fate of that tree that sparked me to start this thread. But when I began a search, it did not readily show up, so I lead off with the other tree.

@edgarblythe,
Avenue of the Giants - it's an offshoot road from highway 101 in Humboldt County, California

I've driven the 101 a zillion times, but only took the Avenue of the Giants road when I had friends or relatives visiting from southern CA.

Thanks, osso. I almost got into that part of the country but wrecked the car and got towed back. In the 60s, of course.
