my friend 1 day called asking me to go out with his ex-girlfriend. he started like "do you the girl who was with me 2yrs ago when we went out with the others (other friends), she is interested in you and wants your number". i said your joking right, after insisting few times i said am not interested in her.. he said y and i still replied no and he hung up the phone.. for info i 1st & last saw his ex 2yrs ago, never spoke to her, never looked or showed any interest in her, we were not even sitting on same table during dinner and doesnt even know her name. at first when he started the consevation on the phone, i though he was back with his ex and he asked her for marriage, something like that..
2 weeks has passed he seem distant from me since this call, which i find very strange. for info he left this girl 2 yrs ago because she wanted to get in a serious relationship with him.
any idea whats happening here? thanks.

It's weird at best.
You're not interested, so don't bother contacting her. And tell your friend to matchmake with someone else.

What's so strange? He wants two people he thinks a lot of to get to know each other. Yes, he's playing matchmaker.
You are assuming he has other feelings than just wanting the best for her. He thought about you.
Two years is an eternity in young people's lives.
At least that's how I see it.
