Could you tell me what kind of article should I use in the following sentence?

The/A seating arrangement depends upon the activity involved.

Personally, I would choose "the", but I am not sure.

@contrex,
Quote:

But Con, doesn't that make certain assumptions at odds with other possible placements

Quote:
The seating arrangement....
One of any number of suggested seating arrangements depends upon just which of a number of certain activities is under consideration

Quote:
A seating arrangement....
Any number of arrangements are under consideration, for standing, lying down, etc.. However in this particular case, only seating is up for discussion

I just want to say that any seating arrangement in the classroom depends upon a specific activity students are going to do. It determines a teacher's movement in the classroom etc.

So, in this context, should I use "A seating arrangement" or "The seating arrangement"?

@Nat093,
Again Nat, context. "The" implies a necessary upcoming arrangement, probably a specific one of prominence, whereas...

"A" is more general, probably no specific arrangement. A Mustang of course could be any such vehicle answering to that label

The Mustang ran over Mom. A particular car with which we've been made familiar, probably in an earlier report describing it

No, but you could use "Any seating arrangement".
