Relationship info on Fcaebook profile?

Why people do not place information about the relationship to Facebook profile? Does it doing mainly those who are not in any sort of relationship, or that doing even those who are in a relationship, engaged, in marriage ...WHy would be anyone hide relationship status? Do anyone knew why it is like that from your experience?
