What does he want?

I told my FWB that I loved him 7 months ago. I knew that wasn't a good idea but I got upset when he told me he was going to move out of state and I thought if I told him how I felt, he'd change his mind and stay. Well, he got mad and stopped communicating with me. I didn't hear from him at all for 7 months - until last night. He sent a text. It was a total shock. It was like nothing negative had happened between us. It wasn't even mentioned. So, my question is, if he knows I love him, and if that upsets him, why has he contacted me again? My feelings haven't changed. I've missed him like crazy. I'm just not sure what to do now. Maybe he realized he loves me also? Or am I just wishful thinking? I'm afraid to ask him what his intentions are because I'm afraid to scare him off again.

@ala2014,
It certainly sounds as though he has changed his mind. It also sounds as though he's thinking if he doesn't refer to the past problem, it will never come up again. I guess it would be hard to just ignore him, but I'm inclined to think that would be best.

@roger,
Thank you for responding. Why do think ignoring him would be best?

@ala2014,
Just personal experience. If things haven't worked out before, they usually don't when you try again. I don't know if we are doomed to repeat the same experience with the same person. Maybe we are influenced by the memory.

Anyway, I don't like his failure to acknowledge his past failure. I guess it isn't a big deal in itself, but I don't think he's being honest with himself.

You can follow up if you want, and it might work out well. All I can do is share an opinion for you to use in making up your own mind.
