Hi guys can you help me identify what type of rug this is? Persian or oriental?

Looks like Chinese figure on the rug. I've seen rugs somewhat similar to that in China, Jordan and Egypt. I bought a silk rug in Egypt that's now hanging in our living room. Our son brought one home when he was stationed in Saudi Arabia that's in our front hall way.

I have a remarkably similar rug hanging on my wall which is Persian in origin. However, the owner, my significant other suggests that it might be Chinese. She knows more about that sort of thing whereas I lie like a rug.

The designs look more like those found on Chinese rugs vs those found on Persian aka Oriental rugs.

For some reason <I know but it's a long saga on Orientalism> rugs from the Middle East were called Oriental rugs until the 1980's.
