In up-to-date reporting, the verb tenses can either change or remain the same in reported speech. But what about time expressions? Do they change or not ?
E.g. Ann said, "I am flying to France tomorrow." As we know, time expression "tomorrow" changes to "the next day, the following day" Do we have to say,
Ann said that she is flying to France tomorrow or Ann said that she is flying to France the next day/the following day ? Which one is right?
I think that because the verb tense didn't change we are not going to change time expression either. I mean that "Ann said that she is flying to France tomorrow." must be grammatically correct.
What do you think?

Using Up-to-date reporting?

Say:

Ann says she is flying to Paris tomorrow.

@PUNKEY,
But the authors of my grammar book say, using up-to-date reporting you may use either past simple or present simple without any difference

The time depends on when you are reporting.

She says she is going today (present)

Three hours later ...

She said she is going today.

The next day...

She said she was going yesterday.
