Hello All,
I want to draft a letter regarding "avail tax exemption" from check post. This letter is addressing to "incharge of ____check post". I am bringing ____ quantities of stones from one state to to another (my state) state (from xxxx place to zzzz place). If we are bringing some items from another state for personal use government is avoiding tax in check post. If it is for business purpose we have to pay tax in check post. in this letter i am declaring that this much quantities of stones are for our personal purpose only. This stones are for renovation of our church building. This church is under our registered community union.

Please make a good letter for me.

Thanks
Rekha

@rekhaannvarghese,
Wow Rek tht's a real toughie. I'll try but it's sheer guesswork

If I bring a significant number of decorative stones from another state, I'm supposing the shipment shouldn't be taxed since they're for personal use. So I plan a letter asking Check Post to verify, especially since it's intended for renovation of our church (which incidentally is registered under a Community Union)

...even though I have not the slightest idea what's a Check Post or a Community Union

@rekhaannvarghese,
Since it's for a church, you should mention that it's for a 501c3 nonprofit. Bring a copy of the church's 501c designation.

I am bringing xxx quantities of stones from (name of state) to (my state and location) to be used at our church site. Attached is a copy of our IRS 501c3 status which qualifies for tax free transfer of this material.
