Making a make shift shelter in my basement however the furnace is obviously down there with outside vent pipes....anyone know how to protect that from radioactive fallout?

Are you referring to possible presence of existence of Radon? Are you talking abut some other form of radioactive fallout from someone unknown event or source ?

Do you live in a Radon-prone area?
What are your thoughts and/or proof of any fallout in your home? Who ran the tests and how long were the tests run to detect any radiation?

@Ragman,
Due to recent world events (middle east especially ) I am worried of pending nuclear war breaking out. That being said, I am concerned about my furnace allowing fallout coming into my basement. Thoughts on how to solve this?
