I have searched the internet. I made this post as a desperate effort. I always do my own research before asking anyone. I did not find this quote at all. There are some quotes with some of the same words but without this meaning. I had always believed that Walter Mathau said it but now I need to know. I've already looked up Walter Mathau quotes and found some but not this one. I joined this forum hoping to find this answer or a direction for finding, you are the only one who responded and I want to thank you for that.

Thank you for your response to my inquiry. I read a post about books you were reading so I assume you read a lot of books therefore, I can assume this quote will not be found in a book. I remember a voice on the television crediting Walter Mathau with this quote and showing him in a film or interview. It has stayed with me because it is true. Thank you again, Candlelight8
