Old house light/fan switch replacement

I have an old house (1915) that has an odd situation on one of the switches in the bathroom.

One light switch controls the overhead light on/off like normal. BUT - the MIDDLE (in between on and off) controls the bathroom fan. Even the inspector said he hasn't seen anything like that before.

The switch needs replacing. I have no problems doing that as I have done that plenty of times before and consider it a general homeowner repair. But how/where do you get a light switch that has a "middle" setting? I mean, my understanding of a switch is it is either ON - allowing power or OFF - breaking power connection.

Is there something I am missing?

@skylarksmh,
Just Google "three position light switch".

Here is one:

I'm not sure if this meets your needs.
