Provide a situation and answer. Give an observation of market phenomenon and answer it with supply and demand. Describe what the supply & demand curves are doing (how they are moving) to account for what you observe.

@milo23,
Milo you'll probably be accused of help with homework but nonetheless, off the top of my head....

Quote:
Q: Why are there so many cars on the roads?
Because they've become a necessity and there's usu no reasonable alternative

Quote:
Q: Why are movie tickets so expensive?
I'd never thought they were. However my BH, who is much smarter than I, says it's 'cuz it's so expensive to make movies

Quote:
Q: Why are my monthly bills so high?
My first reaction is: compared to what

I suppose you could blame inflation but my BH supports our retirement lavishly, using only modest savings and SocSec

Milo some might appreciate a profile; I don't know why they're so very rare. Otherwise I'm [email protected] accused of foolishness of course for revealing it

@milo23,
1)because except for the Amish, people no longer tend to travel by horse and buggy.

2)because both actors and producers are insanely greedy and desire a lifestyle much akin to obscenity. Living in multilevel mansions with dozens of bedrooms, baths and oddrooms on several acres of land, all of which much be maintained by a staff which needs to be properly paid. Not too mention their several automobiles....

3)because of regular increases in salaries of those employed by the electric, gas, phone and cable companies, along with the local area's water supply and safety, which must be overseen and maintained for your safety.

Best for you to find a comfortable cave in the mountainside and move in there. No fancy electronics or running water ( unless you have a piping system set up to a nearby spring) but it'll keep the rain off of you and come winter you'll have a nice bear to keep you warm.

@milo23,
Q: Why are there so many cars on the roads?
A: Because public transportation is lacking compared to many other countries.
A: The cost of automobiles vary from economy to luxury which provides the consumer with many choices.

Q: Why are movie tickets so expensive?
A: It's a simple economics issues called supply and demand. As long as people are willing to pay the entrance fee, the movie industry will continue to make movies. Not all movies make a profit.

Q: Why are my monthly bills so high?
A: You are not correctly budgeting your income vs expenses.
