@LittleDreamer,
I didn't know what I wanted to major in college, but I knew it had to do with Business. All Business majors are required to take Accounting 101, and I got an A. I found my calling.
To make a long story short, my Accounting major provided me with all the opportunities I couldn't dream of as a high school student. I had four job offers before I even graduated, but went to work for Florsheim Shoe Company as a Field Auditor in the seven western states. After 3.5 years, they promoted me to Audit Manager with a hefty raise in pay.
Since then, I have traveled to 85 countries in over 200 trips.
I have always told my children to go into a field they will enjoy working in for the long term. That's the same advise I will give to you.
Our son graduated summa cum laude and with honors for his graduate degree. He now works for the University of Texas in Austin. His pay is not that good, but he's enjoying his job.
