I am on a quest to make special genetically modified animals. With new technology such as CRISPR and other methods how realistic is this dream of mine. I.E Spidermonkey in spy kids :

I simply want to diverse and grow the animal population if we are pushing them to the break of extraction the least we could do is create our own with a special touch. Also could we manipulate size. Please and thank you for your answers and time.
