Child Support with dad in jail

I am writing because I have a question. My son has to pay child support and apparently he is not. He is a grown man and this is his responsibility. He is in jail because of this (went in about a week ago.) His girlfriend put $150.00 on his books. My son got $50.00 and Child Support took $100.00. I know they have the right to do this but I would like to know how much they can actually take. If I were to put $50.00 on his books how much would my son get and how much would child support take out. I asked at the jail to an officer but he didn't know. So here I am.

@yjsk2100,
I've no idea, but maybe the rules for employer garnishment of wages might be a guideline. *Fifty percent is the most an employer may deduct regardless of the amount ordered and regardless of how many such garnishments are in effect. Again, I've no idea of the rules for prisoners.

*Some states required up to 60% if the account is seriously in arrears. Certainly, if he's in jail for not support, he is seriously in arrears.
