Planning to replace 4 pin CFL bulbs with LEDs. I've shopped and found that there are 4 pin LEDs that can be inserted to the fixture without having to bypass the ballast. Will this be less energy efficient than replacing the fixture and removing the ballast?
I don't understand. Ballasts are generally for gas discharge lighting. LED's don't need ballasts. Why the hell would you put LED's in, but keep the ballast in the circuit? Will it even work? I don't know, because I can't understand anyone ever attempting what you're considering.
