Should I believe him??

So my husband and I have been married a little over a year now. I just recently discovered photos that he had taken with his ex girlfriend with captions of "I love you" and "my best friend" that were taken in the first month or so of us dating. He says he meant it all as a friendly thing but I don't believe him. And now I have no idea what to do especially considering those were the days he would go over there instead of coming home from work like he had told me he was. I know it is all in the past but I can't help but worry that he had cheated on me and I married him without knowing and now it's getting in the middle of our marriage. What should I do??

Given that his former girlfriend probably thought he was cheating on her with you, I'd recommend letting this go.

People are allowed to have prior relationships. People are allowed to date a few people at the same time. It is not a big deal in the overall picture of life.

He chose to marry you - to make a life with you.

Try to focus on that.

I'm always amazed that I don't see this mentioned more on a2k. In many ways I think failure to consider not being exclusive immediately as a possibility sets people up for later tense marriages because of lack of experience to start with.

Different strokes for different folks, but I find it odd. Not that I'm always against immediate exclusivity, just that I'm surprised people rarely mention it as an ok possibility.
