No person has done more to poison the minds of Americans than Roger Ailes, who, for the last two decades has masterminded Fox News' steady gush of vitriol and paranoia fueling white male working class rage against immigrants, blacks, Democrats, Hillary Clinton, liberals, gays, Latinos, and women – the culmination of which is now on display on the stage of the Republican National Convention.
So it seems entirely fitting that Ailes is now heading out the door in the wake of a sexual harassment suit by former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson, along with a steady drip of other damaging allegations. Fox parent 21st Century Fox (i.e. Rupert Murdoch) confirms that talks are underway to end Ailes' 20-year reign.
Good riddance, Roger. You’ve stoked divisiveness, given us Donald Trump, and destroyed what was left of any sanity in the Republican Party. Please pick up your severance check soon (Rupert may not give you one after you’re indicted) and disappear.
