Swimpy!!

Do you know about Abuzz?

[Hopes not to be the one to break bad news]

I've been assuming everyone knew, but I've broken the news to at least one person.

Which reminds me, Soz . . . do you know about Krema peanut butter? I picked some up at the Krogetta today, and i immdiately thought of you. On the back of a jar of Krema (made in Grandview, by the by, or was at one time), is the list of ingredients:

peanuts.

Oh now Krogetta, that I get!

They have this little supervised play area for kids -- I drop off sozlet whenever there are other kids, and I can shop in peace... ahhh...

Well, i went shopping on the way home from work (biggest Kroger in Hilliard is on the way), and when i picked up the Krema, i thought of their store, at the foot of the bluff, on Buttles at the south end of Northwest Boulevard. Without being any more specific, i think you can see why i thought of you . . .

Beats the hell outta me, Cornhusker, you need to fill me in on the railroad guy . . . actually, the place where i live was known historically as Mudsock, which was not, however, incorporated. Sixteen years ago, when i came to Ohio, the road i live on had not 50 people living in the five mile stretch from New Rome to Hilliard. Now there are several thousand living here, and most new construction was done within the last ten years.

Oh Man, that is like, so toad-ally cosmic . . . i used exactly that image in a thread of mine on the topic. As my grandmother would have said, great minds run on the same course.

Krema is a local company, which has probably been bought out by corporate interests. They have a little store on Buttles Avenue and their product is distributed throughout Ohio. They make (or once did) cashew butter, and some other exotics. They proudly advertise that they add no sugar, salt or emulsifiers. The jar has instructions for stirring the peanut butter (naturally, the oil separates) depending upon whether it is at room temperature, or refrigerated. Personally, i like to mix my PB with butter before spreading on wheat toast, so i prefer Krema. I'll go get the jar.

(Please note, the caps are a replication of the labelling.)

INGREDIENTS: PEANUTS .... No added salt, sugar or hydorgenated oils.
Krema group, Ltd. P.O. BOx 715 Dublin, Ohio 43017.

STIRRING TIPS: Oil separation occurs naturally without hydrogenated oils. Refrigeration retards this oil separation. Krema finely grinds select peanuts to create our inque creamy texture which remains smooth and spreadable 'even when refrigerated!'[/i][/u] To stir, slide stiff butter knife down inside of jar, while rotating gently pull blade toward center of jar allowing oil to fill space created. Rotate jar as you gently raise and lower blade in center of jar in a mixing motion until desired consistency is reached. Refrigerate. Microwaving may help the stirring process.

So, that means they've moved the headquarters to Dublin (north of Hilliard, northwest of Columbus.) To the side of the ingredients portion of the label is the self-promotion blub . . .

Krema Peanut Butter has a tradition of excellence of over 100 years--the country's oldest. Today 'We're Peanut Butter...and A Whole Lot More!!!'[/i] You will love our Nut Butters, Chocolate Nut Butter Truffles and Fruit and Nut Dessert Cakes. Contact us for futher information.

And, of course in this day and age, they give their web site address:
