Agreed. I didn't have a problem with the actual questions. I had no problem of the analysis deeming me as being liberal. That was fine. The bias was when it says my liberal score on the quiz represented only 15% of Americans. When in fact my views are in-line with at least 50% of Americans if not more.

@Real Music,
Maybe they meant 15% of Americans who found their quiz.

Government should not censor speech, press, media, or internet.
Disagree. I can't agree to such a blanket statement. It might be pretty desirable for government to restrict the ability of people to publish hate speech, or at least prosecute them afterwards, e.g. like the man in Britain who pushed antisemitic leaflets through the letterboxes of synagogues. "Censor" sounds like a dog-whistle code word.

Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft.
Agree. No problem with this one.

There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults.
Maybe. I can think of some exceptions, such as criminal transmission of HIV.

Repeal laws prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs.
Maybe. While I think there may be arguments in favour of decriminalising drug possession, I would heavily prosecute dealers of hard drugs.

There should be no National ID card.
Agree. We don't have ID cards in Britain, and I wouldn't like to see them introduced.

End "corporate welfare." No government handouts to business.
Disagree. "Corporate welfare" and "handouts" are right-wing code. Clearly something I should not consent to! Also, there may be circumstances in which a government subsidy is desirable.

End government barriers to international free trade.
Disagree. Code for unfettered globalisation

Let people control their own retirement; privatize Social Security.
Disagree. Would lead to fragmentation, inefficiency, and a net loss to the customers.

Replace government welfare with private charity.
Disagree. The government is best placed to achieve economies of scale and provide disinterested direction of the welfare system.

Cut taxes and government spending by 50% or more.
Disagree. Could lead to disaster. Anyhow, which 50%? To agree would be a doctrinaire thing.

These scores make me "Left liberal". I suppose I am.

Look at the top of the quiz: it's provided by Advocates.org, an American libertarian organisation.

The ten questions have been modified over time.

Former questions that have been removed

Let peaceful people cross borders freely.
Minimum wage laws cause unemployment. Repeal them.
All foreign aid should be privately funded.

New questions that have been added

There should be no National ID card.
Let people control their own retirement; privatize Social Security.
Replace government welfare with private charity.

Rephrased questions

People are better off with free trade than with tariffs. → End government barriers to international free trade.
End taxes. Pay for services with user fees. → Cut taxes and government spending by 50% or more.
Businesses and farms should operate without government subsidies. → End "corporate welfare." No government handouts to business.
