How come hurricanes & tropical storms are only given Caucasian names? I think the next few storms ought to have other names like:
1--Rufus
2--Jamal
3--Tameka
4--Jamima
5--Manuel
6--Jorge
Any comments or thoughts on this?

Yes, the meteorologists decide this. ;-) However, important is that the hurrican is not too strong.
They also go in alphabetical order. I don't think we've ever gotten past N. And, by the way, there are some ethnic names being used, the G this year is Gaston.
Well, I thought they used names instead of numbers or something so that they were easier to remember. I mean, you can't imagine anyone saying, yeah, my house was blown away in Hurricane 51346, can you? And maybe it's just as hard to remember Hurricane Hezekial.
Or maybe not, since Hezekial's a pretty rememb'rable name.
But those are just my ramblings on the subject. Good question.
What was your signature, Smartsux?
you guys have to experience hurricane. We have to meet typhoon.
I know that every country of the south and the southeast asia have offered 5(not sure) names to name Typhoons.
If the hurricane causes the massive destruction then the meteorologists will never use that name.
I'm sure there is a reasoning with naming the different weather types. For instance, not so long ago all hi pressures(good weather) was given boy names, and all the lo pressures was given ---
girlynames...

a bit reasonable
(dont kill me all the ladies!please!)
These guys didn't kid around, john...
