The Four Faces of God
It is incontestable that 'God' is a name we have created for something, and that something is the reason or cause for the universe and, more particularly, for the conscious mind, without which nothing could be named, and also for the ethical values that define how we treat the world.
A society or world that has no 'god' is therefore in Chaos, or it has an anti-god of that description.
Societies that are stable, law-abiding and focused, therefore have a 'god'.
There are fundamentally three faces for that 'god'.
1 A deity that stands apart from humanity and imposes 'his' will on society, requiring obedience.
2 A personal deity that is all things to all people individually.
3 A deity that serves society human and natural.
There is a conflict in the world today between 1 and 2.
2 Is what largely defines Western 'secular' society today.
