Question in a survey with answer option more than 2,000

Dear everyone, I am currently designing a survey to be used for market research. I will need to see from which school is the respondent (our target respondent is student) comes from. the way we will do it is, by providing them the list of school that we know in one province (which is more than 2,000 school just for Junior high school and senior high school only), then they will have to choose from the list we provided, by type some first letter of their school's name and we want the answer from the list that we provided will be narrowed (and showed to them).
But i am confuse how to do this and what feature/function/logic is this called? at least if i know the name it will be easier for me to consult with some other people too.
Please help me, what can i do to solve this issue. Thank you so much
