fossilized honeycombs do exist but are fairly young (8-10K yrs old) from Malaysia. I checks the Journal Of Paleontology and they had only 2 papers on this and NO photos, sorry.
The way its structured (hex on the one side and then squarish along the right angle) That looks like a honeycomb all right.
have any friends with a scope?
Where did you find it? and in what environmental conditions?
