BACKGROUND.

The more civilized you are , the more you can be who you are. The more enlightened- smaller claims.

I think the more civilized you are, the more you can be who you are. And it says in the quote: "You should be," and be "who you are". How do you get there?. If, for example. if you is illiterate (can not read or write) or something like that, then the chances are greater that you go for the superstitions and anyone can exercise it over any other and then you have this really a requirement of one that "lik this you must be".

so:
It should not be a requirement that says "like this you must be".

It means:
That would mean that as many as possible should have knowledge of and be enlightened so nobody can get you going by superstitions and practice it on you and how you then "must be". But if you do not have the knowledge or enlightened then you can not be who you are but now says the quote 'to be able to be who you are'. And if you are not "enlightened" then the risk is greater that someone practicing superstitions over you and make demands on you that "like this must be" so simply!

You should be able to be who you are and still succeed.
namely:
"You should be," and be "who you are", is achieved by the enlightened and have the knowledge then can one be who you are and have the prerequisite for success. The more civilized you are, the more you can be who you are.

Conclusion:
It should not be a requirement that says " like this you must be".
You should be able to be who you are and still succeed.

Everything depends on how one reads the citation, but if you read carefully and assume that the person does not mean anything unreasonable then summarizes that this is what you mean. The quotation is closest PEOPLE'S PARTY in sweden.

And the interpretation matches the quote. I do not mean anything unreasonable quotation. Just sayin.
