I'm doing a project on waste management in western africa and I know the reeds and willows can be used for waste management I'm wondering if anyone could help me with either understanding why reeds and willows work for this and or what other plants work for this treatment as I know that reeds require lots of water so this would not be ideal

@Brianmac,
Interesting question, and I've no idea of the answer for what would be good plants for the waste treatment but don't take so much water to grow. Are there any local agronomists?
