Define belief.

Hi all,
If you mentally gather the five most intelligent people you are close with,

What will be their response when asked to describe belief?

Also, how would they differentiate belief, from assumption, theory, intuition, speculation, guess.

My most intelligent friend, defines it as follows,

When forced to believe one of the available options,
With none of the possibilities, possessing sufficient evidence to prove it as fact,
The option with more rational pressure (evidence pointing in it's direction, "advising" you, to take that route), is treated and accepted as fact in form of belief.

Someone in the room, then raised the following.

If that is what you call belief,
The info we accept as fact, based on emotional pressure,

Was just stripped of it's name.

Whoever supports his view, we need to sort this out,
Are we simply going to name them rational belief, and emotional belief?.

Or, that will be way to abusive to mr rational, to place him in the quality level of mr emotional?
