If there's a God and if She reads these postings, thanks Gal for bringing me onto a planet that has the coffee bean

In stretch of free will, however, our Keurig must be the biggest tech disappointment of the 21st century. My first reaction: Gosh it makes only one cup, then doesn't keep it warm

All right, it holds 3 cups of water so with some patience and 2 additional paks I might brew three sequential servings

But the main thing, damn: If you perform the process in the wrong sequence it quits, just sits there doing nothing, and evidently won't restart. My Better Half, who I think you'd agree is much smarter than I, wonders why I can't remember the sequence. But she's also 8 years younger than me

For other 84-year-olds like me who've acquired that monstrous device: At the suggestion of my BH, unplugging the gadget for a few seconds resets it so you can go back to the instruction book without loss of ingredients

Or call your BH

@dalehileman,
The Keurig is truly a monstrosity, and I'm just waiting for the day when people realize they've been poisoned by them. The cups are made of a mystery mix of plastics which is why they're stamped with the #7, which officially simply means "other" and not recyclable. The only plastic widely considered safe for food use is polythylene (#2, #4). All plastics become more dangerous when exposed to heat, as in a Keurig machine, as heat can cause toxins to leach out. The FDA won't tell you that the Keurig process is safe. Who will? Only the folks who are trying to sell you a machine and its little cups. And they've indeed sold many; billions of their non-recyclable cups have been produced, enough to circle the earth many times over. Among the many coffee makers that produce as good or better tasting coffee without the waste and toxins: Virtually any good Italian espresso maker, such as the Bialetti model below, which makes up to 6 cups at once, by the way.

@dalehileman,
I'm in agreement dale. I could never see what the big deal was. There was one in the office I worked in, but I never used it.

Although, I did make good money on their stock at one point, and got out before it went in the toilet.

@Banana Breath,
Thank you Ban; while meantime I've read something to the effect that K is working on a mod that will make it impossible to use its pak with other machines
What gall...
