@markkline1372,
Hamburg (allied fire bombing, 42k+ dead from incendiaries,) Hiroshima and Nagasaki (allied nuclear weapons usage,) Tokyo (incendiary use, single attack killed over 100k people.)
These were often not military-target strikes but strikes to wipe out large numbers of civilians. Hiroshima and Nagasaki for instance had no military value as targets and were used to simply gauge the effects of nuclear weapons on cities not yet attacked (before and after comparisons et al.)
While in war there's never a 'good guy' side, and both do horrible things, some of the most horrible things occured in World War 2 since live media coverage wasn't yet possible. And what film footage recorded things often did so well after the fact. And was highly censored.
We need to stop portraying some wars as justifiable and the things done during them as honorable or good. Murdering people is never good no matter the reason. And until we evovle beyond this infancy stage of human development, it's important to oppose ALL wars and use of military force.
