I live in TX. We have 2 ac units with the blowers in the attic. One of the blowers is accumulating water in the drip pan. The water is draining out of the front of the house through a pvc pipe. I am concerned. We have lived here 7 years and this has never happened before. When my wife tried to schedule an appointment with an ac contractor, she was told that as long as the water was draining it should be okay, Should I have ac repair company look at this?

The condensation has to go somewhere. There is always condensation, even if you don't notice any. So it has to drain out through a pipe or into your attic if the drain gets clogged. Factors such as heat, humidity and how much it's used contribute to how much water it has to drain. If it is not otherwise giving trouble I would not be overly concerned. But if you know a contractor you trust, it's good to have the system maintenanced every year.

@edgarblythe,
I would clean the drain occasionally. Some people I know pour clorox in the drip pan, but A/C suppliers sell tablets for that.

@tgwmiw,
I had an AC contractor out to look at it. The primary drain was clogged. That is why there was water in the drip pain that was draining to the front porch. They said that it is a good thing that I had them come to check it out.
