How to remember

Every day I encounter an unfamiliar term

Quote:
Jerusalem syndrome

PRONUNCIATION:
(ji-ROOS-uh-luhm SIN-drohm)

MEANING:
noun: A phenomenon in which a visitor to a holy place suffers from religious psychosis, such as believing him- or herself to be a messiah.
Thanks to OneLook

I'd think of a temple or cathedral such as might be found in that city, a round top of course to suggest "dome," and peeping in a window or opening I see folk copulating psychotically (in "syn")

Do you like to learn a new word and how do you remember it

Thanks all

@dalehileman,
Quote:
swidden

PRONUNCIATION:
(SWID-n)

MEANING:
noun: An area of land cleared for farming by slashing and burning the vegetation.
Boy this is a tough one

Best I could do at once, "s'hidden," suggesting that one way to hide grass is to chop then burn it

Come on fellas, among some 300,000 of us, isn't there anyone who does this
