Which procedure would cause a frozen 2kg lamb roast to thaw the quickest.
1. Leave the meat wrapped up tight in clear plastic from the supermarket.
2. Take the plastic off and expose it to the air
Sticking the lamb in a microwave on a defrost setting for fifteen minutes or so.
(Read microwave instruction book for correct defrost time).
You can fill a sink (or a tub) with room temperature water, and then place the plastic-wrapped item in the water. There is a great difference in the temperatures which will thaw the meat, but the water is not warm enough to cause the meat to begin to spoil.
