Who should have their likeness on the various United States dollar bills?

Harriet Tubman Might Replace Andrew Jackson On The $20 Bill

Do you think the United States Treasury Department would actually change any of the present portraits used on the various United States coins and bills? Around they the ones to authorize the change or it it under Congressional or presidential jurisdiction?

@tsarstepan,
Other countries have done a complete currency change so I see no reason to doubt that we will. THe replacements will of course be members of recognized victims groups.

Quote:
The Secretary of the Treasury is responsible for the selection of the designs, including the portraits, which appear on paper currency. The July 11, 1862 Act of Congress provided:
"That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and is hereby authorized, in case he shall think it expedient to procure said notes, or any part thereof, to be engraved, printed, and executed, in such form as he shall prescribe, at the Treasury Department in Washington, and under his direction; and he is hereby empowered to purchase and provide all machinery and materials, and to employ such persons and appoint such officers as may be necessary for this purpose."

@tsarstepan,
Id like to see money with grizzly bears or condors or trout and salmon on the obverse face and some douche bag dead guys on the back. Jackson's days are probably numbered, as are Clevelands.
We could have one with a blue whale on the front and John Adams on the back, sort of a navy theme.

Same thing with coins. I liked the Nt Park quarters, why not do that with others?

I would have selected Elinor Roosevelt, but Tubman is fine with me.

He could be on the new $7 bill, nicknamed the Royale.

How about the chairmen of the banks which own the federal reserve?

@tsarstepan,
I almost didn't recognise Harriet Tubman on that fake currency.

But I'm quite sure the openly gay dime proposal in your link would be much better off as a holey dollar.

Vox: Change for a 20

A twenty-dollar bill picturing the abolitionist Harriet Tubman was due to début in 2020, before the Treasury Department announced that the redesign would be delayed until 2026.
