Refilling a dry well

Hi, I am in a national park in Senegal and we use a traditional well (25m straight hole in the ground and bucket on a rope). The well went dry after overuse by 50 people who were here for a week. I want to have a truck come here with 6000 litres to refill it to make sure we have enough water till the rains come (this might sound crazy, but it is the best solution I have come up with the that it within our budget). I plan to use a long hose and let the water trickle down over several hours to avoid potential damage from just throwing the water in from 25 meters above. Are there any risks involved with putting water back in a well artificially?
Thanks for the help!

@Matthisd,
I don't have that kind of knowledge about wells to answer. Would it be possible to store the water above ground and let the well refill naturally?

Sounds like you've been put into a tough spot. It also sounds like you have an interesting job. Good luck.
