Im just asking because my boyfriend he rupture his lower back disc. L1S5 it is. That happened before I meet him. So he was 20 when that happened. How it happened was doing martial arts. He picked this guy up and the guy started moving and he slip and it was the way the guy fall and his weight upon my boyfriend that cause the injury. He hasn't had a operation. He been doing weight training. But it started having hiccups last year he was working 3 jobs and it cause too much stress upon the body. He never relaxed. So the tail bone moved 5mm inwards. Sounds none thing much but it caused pressure on his nerve down his leg. He was pain! His leg was on FIRE! he said. I called 111 which is 911 in America. He went to hospital and was on heavy pain killers! He was zone out because of the pain killers. He went to a psycho and started to do strength training. Plus with the psycho as well. And then it happened AGAIN! this year he started doing 3 jobs again! I told him not to work at the gym because it requires a lot of sitting at that job. And that what we think set off last time. So this time he was training this man and was demonstrating how to do a front squat. So that's having the bar across the front shoulders and squatting. Then the next day in the morning he went to the gym to excise and he felted this pull! So he went home and went on the cross trainer. Then he had a shower and the heat of the water and the blood vessel made it tease up. Went to the psycho they just rubbed it and explained it was a pull ligament in one of the vertebrae. So the muscles tease up to protect it. Well that night! He woke up and needed to flip over. So I jumped out of bed to let him do that. Muscles were still tease up. He lay on the floor. Still didn't helped. So he asked for me turn to the shower on. So I helped him up got him into the shower. I gave him so meds to make the muscles relaxed that he asked for. Then suddenly he lower himself and fainted! Called 111 they come over and gave him pain killers. Now Im thinking maybe it's best he just get it done and over with and have the back operation. But my mum thinks he is too young to have a back operation now. She said if he was 60 then yeah but maybe when he is 40 they have a different method in how to operate in the back. He has had MRI scan the first time and we went to his back specialist but they would only give him a MRI scan if he was going to have a operation. Personally I think that is stupid! Because you need an MRI to determined if you need it or not and see what actually wrong. Than just guessing and relaying on X-rays. What advice would you suggest? Im really concern for him.
