When I was little I used to wonder how they kept those plates stuck to the back of their heads.....

btw, doesn't this baby Jesus kind of look like that thing from the Alien when it first burst out of that guys chest? Or like the baby in Eraser head?

I'm sure you both have seen enough preRenaissance liturgical art to have noticed that this was the rule (not the exception) when depicting cherubs as well as the baby Jesus.
