I've removed part of my tattoo by rubbing it with salt on a cloth. It works, but it also removes skin pigmentation, and you will have an area on your skin devoid of pigmentation.
Laser removal is probably better, although expensive, and I don't know if it removes skin pigmentation.

I read somewhere that laser works pretty well on the standard black ink, and not well at all on the yellow. All other colors fall somewhere in between.
