A man is told he will be hanged on a day of the week( excludes Saturday and Sunday) but it is a surprise. He rules out friday becuase it is the last day of the week he continues this reasoning until he says the hanging will never happen but it is going to happen what day is he hanged?

In the situation described:
(1) You know you are going to die some day next week.
(2) On the day it happens, the fact of it happening that day will come as a surprise.

My resolution to this paradox is that the situation is simply logically impossible, for the reasons given in Jane's link.
Isn't the answer just as simple as that?

(The confusion arises because the situation seems like it should be possible.)
