Wearing Dangling Earring for JUST 1 day 6 weeks after getting ears pierced?

I have never had my ears pierced, and I am tomorrow! I am 18, and I've not been scared to get them pierced or anything, I've really just never had the urge to get them pierced or really cared about not having them pierced.

We have prom coming up, in just over 6 weeks. I know that you're supposed to keep the initial earrings in for 6 weeks, so I can check that box off... However, I am hoping that for just the day of prom, I could wear dangling earrings to match my heels... I would try to select lighter weight ones to be on the safer side, even though dangling earrings in general are not ideal so soon after... but I do want dangling earrings for just that event...

Thoughts?

...I would plan to put the "right" kinds of earring right back on after the day is done... Thanks!
