I admin a local page of a large charity. We want to run polls within a post or ask questions etc, aimed at increasing engagement, but it seems Facebook removed this facility. Is this true and can you safely use third party apps that work or do they take the person away from your page just to complete the poll ?

Can't speak for all third-party apps.
As for within FB, I believe that's a part of the difference between a group and a page. I'll check later.
