I'm interested to know what people think of the 3 or 4 minute HIT routines that means you only exercise for 12 or so minutes a week, how effective can these be? I currently do 4 classes a week (pump, combat, conditioning and step) but my friend is insistent that it's not necessary to lose weight and I should instead do one of these short burst programmes. My aim is to lose weight so what is most effective?

Do whatever works best for you. If you are moving toward your goal with what you are doing, don't change it. If not, or you've hit a plateau, you might benefit from changing up your routine.
